Human induced global warming is causing the planet to expand. The expanding earth is resulting in an increase in volcanic activity and more frequent large earthquakes.

Sucking all the oil out of a well is definitely helping... errr, as well
But this has counter-acting affects.
Firstly, it helps the earth shrink, like he is windsurfing in winter, due to a reduction in pressure below the crust, and the weight of all that extra plant food above the crust, this acts like an earthquake tax, to help reduce earthquakes.
Secondly, where too much oil is taken out, like in Japan, the expansion of the earth is over compensated by sea floor collapse, and we get tsunamis.
