Saw a couple of these in the US about 20 yrs ago. All ratty and neglected, should've brought one home. They must have sold like hotcakes over there when they were new.

356s are wicked, when I worked for Porsche one of our customers had two similar to those shown in that vid.

That looks like it is a 60s model going by the extra bars on the bumpers and lack of trafficator arms with lights(turn indicators) in the pillar next to the rear of the door.

My first car was a 59 model which was the first with the large rear screen window and black like that one. It was a 9 year old car when I bought it for $250.

With a 1200 cc engine rated at 36 hp the owner's manual stated that it had a top speed of 63 or 67 or 69 miles per hour.

On one of my many trips between Brisbane and Sydney, when I was a Navy apprentice in the late 60s, I had climbed Cunningham's Gap and on the plateau heading towards Warwick, the air was cool and crisp and I got the old bitch up to 85 miles per hour with plenty of throttle left if I wanted to go harder.

She was stock standard, not lowered like the one above, so I did not push my luck.

Yes, old cars are the bomb which is why my daily drive is an 84 XE Fairmont.

After 1987 all cars turned to crap.

If you can find a 356 for sale these days it will cost you a mint. So much so that replicas will cost you plenty. This one looks to be a bargain but it is a LHD import and needs finishing off.

If you really like Porches you can get to drive them if you have NFS Porche 2000.

The game engine is very good and the cars are very true to the characteristics of each model. Example. The 78 turbo 911 will hang it's rear every time if you gun it whereas the 914 handles like a dream.

My favourite car is the 1967 Porche 911.





EA Games used to run a server for online racing for this game for a couple of years or more and I had a ball with about 200 other dedicated racers with a chat room between races and stats and a hero board to boot.

It was not possible to cheat either. There was a girl in the U.S. by the name of Chey who was legend. She raced real cars too.

Now get this. My computer had a Gigabyte mother board, Celeron 600 CPU, Nvidea TNT2 32 mb AGP graphics card, 128 mb RAM, Soundblaster sound card and a 10 Gb HDD running Windows 98 Second Edition over a dial up connection.

Weekly scan discs and defrags were standard operating procedure.

No. The Clevelands are too heavy for the XD, XE or XFs. They do terrible things to the weight distribution.

Better with a Windsor or better still with a turbo 250 X Flow. But why bother, it is a beautiful ride as it is. Maximum speed I need for getting around B Doubles is 150 kmh and it is good for that.

You need to update your 84 Falcon cisco for a 7-9k 2003 mk111 Toyota Avalon.

The inside is so plush and roomy,the ride is ultra smooth from the 3litre 6 cylinder engine. Got 600kms last week for the 65 litre fuel tank,more than my old 1993 2.6 Magna.

Feel like a king everytime i drive the thing,need to find a woman as good a ride.
