I have been involed in the TV industry for a L-O-N-G time, OK since the B&W days and what I saw today was mind blowing ....3D HDTV.
The tests today were camera angles and what the effects would be. If you think Avatar was good in the cinema your just going to love the future TV commercials ![]()

As much as i endorce new things Its apparent that after plasma then lcd the 1080p high deffinition etc.
I still have my 152 cm rear prjection i can still watch tv and movies.
I guess its like mobile phones. At the end of the day its a simple phone but obviously people feel left behind and are forced to purchase somthing that they have already.
business promotes technology at the expense of you and me.Bank seem to thrive of credit cards running at 15 percent. As far as im concerned after 3d tv two weeks later there will be another new tv that you will need to by.It will never stop.
If it aint broken dosent need fixing.
salesman are all lying dogs they prey on the week to put food in there mouths.
It looks like you're up for about $100 for each pair of glasses to watch the 3D tv.http://www.news.com.au/technology/d-tv-is-here-but-you-should-read-the-rules/story-e6frfro0-1225852849766
If you only want one pair that's fine but then if you have half a dozen people round to watch something it could get a bit expensive. Specially if half of them walk off with the glasses in their pocket.
The tvs are cheaper than I thought.
Went into the Sony store in Sydney last week to take a look.
I was quite relieved that the demo took place in a sectioned off area of the showroom, felt a bit of a twonk wearing those glasses in public.
It was interesting, but on the whole I was less than impressed. The screen flickered, and I had trouble focusing properly on the image. Would be tiring to watch a full length movie.
Maybe I'm one of the few people that have trouble seeing 3d tv well....i really wanted to like it too.
Think I'll wait for version 2, or maybe 3...or maybe when 3d projectors are released...
BTW - why is The Windsurfing movie shot in HD but only released on DVD, and not even full screen....does it cost that much more to release Bluray versions...
Have you seen the warnings that come with these things. About the only thing it doesn't cause is lung cancer.
Total gimmick IMHO.
It will rely entirely on source material to enjoy. 99% of Teev will be in 2D so wasspoint?
There will now be the need to hunt for the remote and glasses.![]()
Sit ya fat couch potato butt on a pair and it's off to the shop for (I would assume) at least $100 pair of dork sunnies. As pweedas said a family of 4 needs 4 pairs obviously (unless your just watching 3D skin flicks ey Flysurfer?
) so that would probably mean replacing all 4 once a year or so. Exxy $$ ![]()
ANYTHING that strobes the vision is to be wary of I reckon and I will definately not be whacking a pair on.
Plus I think that 3D (in cinema or otherwise) is soooo average. It is just not impressive TBH. Maybe back in the 60s but I just don't get any thrill out of it at all. Not to mention that SFX based films generally have stodgy acting (all done in front of a green/blue screen) whacked implausible plots and are pizz poor all round.
Yaawwwnn. Next!
