I've seen bigger out there watch out there is plenty about, not just passing through as was mentioned
Had a 4.7-5m white swim around our boat a few years back, just off the main swimming beach. I was in awe at the sheer width/girth of the shark...about 90cm wide across back, 3.5m wide span across fins.
I've seen a few since then, but that one was close enough for my wife to touch its fin...which she did & it freaked me out! When it attacked our prop I decided it was time to get out of there, so threw a handful of pillys in the water to distract it & took off.
its well known that theres one over 5m long at seal rocks - phillip island vic.
rangers reckon its 6m.
open the melways map book and look at phillip island.
its well known for these monsters of the deep!!
