6 months or so before Obama became president,he is on record as saying if i win office i will withdraw the troops from Afghanistan.
in office he does the exact opposite,he increases the number significantly.

Every maurauding conqueror of the past 2000(alexander the great,genghis khan etc) years has eventually been shown the door by primarily, experienced bunch/bunches/collectives /tribes , of stick waving, stone throwing and now AK47 welding goat herders and opium growers..who when they haven't been busy repelling invaders have been more than happy to keep the excitment levels up by conducting a multitude of civil/tribal wars
for those that that adopt the Humanitarian approach of saving the general populace from the taliban this would of been a much better solution via a couple of low level runs with B52's
