Just wondering what the aviation guys are saying about this one? The video is hard to watch but looks like a steep angle take off...stall followed by nose dive with landing gear still down.

The SMH, Age, ABC, BBC, CNN, Fox, Chicago Tribune, Dominion Post (NZ), Al Jazeera and the Lithgow Mercury have nothing on it. What's your source?

No source just watched the video, that's why I'm asking. No flames from engines and almost a free fall from the sky of such a big machine. Just curious, I probably watch to much aci

Think this is on the money, watch and see it moves left a tad, nose wheel and landing gear not even come close to retract, so something amiss in the cockpit distracting crew, craft starts to stall then slips right trying to get speed and lift with angle of attack change, but too close to ground to gain any lift, poor bastards. Looks like it was quick for them if nothing else.

Yeah, I saw it. Looked pretty kosher as a real disaster. Almost certain to be caused by lots of cargo breaking loose and shifting back at rotation.

Lost of power.
Are there any birds not ingested yet in Afghanistan left ?
I hope that is not a kite at fault.

Definitely looks like a big stall... probably caused by cargo shift to the rear like others said. Poor buggers... RIP

Big cargo shift "confirmed" by internet experts. The instant it happened the pilots would have known how it would play out and have a long long time of knowing what was coming with no way to prevent it. Poor beggars.

I saw this yesterday and the thing that got me the most was that the person filming it didn't say a word.

There was no type of exclamation, be it for joy or shock, at all, this person was just so calm about it.

I know if I saw something like this going down I'd have something to say even if I was by myself.

Strange?

Recording was by dashboard camera.
Automate or robot if you like.

If you told me a thread could move from a plane crash, to robotic Japanese brothel, I'd have not believed you.

Whole irony is that every donkey or taxi riding across Afghanistan desert is equipped with automatic dashboard camera
but the latest, modern aircraft doesn't have cockpit video recorder.
As usual air crash investigators will relay completely on microphone to guess what happen.
How many lives could be saved if camera were installed on every airplane?
Even by the simple fact that pilots knowing that all is recorded , do not do things that otherwise could do when nobody is watching.

Regardless of who filmed it, robot or not, you can hear someone in the car moving about, at the end you can hear the interference noise of a mobile phone.

There was sound on and there was someone in the car.

You mean "beside driver" ?
I wonder how many people express their emotions when watching TV (action movie or even this accident ) by them self ?

Some people don't talk much, and other like me talk too much. He lets out one expletive later on, but if it was me you would be hearing chatter the whole time.

same with me , just opposite...
I wonder if seeing huge shark appearing tomorrow in front of me on Shearwater , should I say something ? to me or to shark ?
at least swear a bit ?
I don't have gopro so there will be no proof either way anyway...

Here is very difficult problem. What that person seeing this crash should say.

If by any chance is Muslim could say " Allah is great"
but western could say something like : " holly sh**t" or "f**k " and that will be more appropriate

I'm not a pilot but in sailing terms I would say they luffed the 747.

You're equating the emotions you'd be feeling watching people dying in a plane crash right in front of you, to watching TV???

I'm not sure about you, and I don't watch sport on TV, but if you want to make the comparison, think of the sports fan watching a game by themselves, I'm pretty sure there will be a few vocalizations by them.

Unfortunately about 15 seconds I reckon. Apparently they must have tried to turn it up right as in that situation the plane would normally remain upside down (as the wings have no lift). I'm no expert in this though. Poor buggars and their families.

You can never predict how someone will react in a high stress situation. I was present when a bloke died very unexpectedly and was rescucitated in front of a group of close friends. Some stood there and said absolutely nothing for near enough to an hour whilst others were getting in and helping with the CPR and offering words of encouragement. I cant blame the guys that froze, its a traumatic thing to see.The CPR and paramedics got him back but unfortunately he died a few days later.

I think Macro might be suggesting that some people vocalise all the time, and some don't vocalise much at all, or only if they are telling someone something.

I had to drive for a few hours with a bloke for work a few years back. He was happy for neither of us to talk the whole time, whereas I think more than 5 minutes of silence is way too much.

Then of course, there's some that talk ALL the time.

^^^ only 5 min without talking? that puts you in the talk all the time category.
