I would support 3 on the bench, plus 2 substitutes / reserves, at Elite Level.
I don't have the stats, but it seems that it is common for a team to get 1 injury per game...
I think teams should have 2 subs.
2 subs gives the young guys and the old guys a better chance... Coaches will feel more comfortable going into a game with 22 performers, and 1 young kid they are slowly giving exposure to, or 1 older guy coming back from a little injury, giving him some playing time...
It's a no brainer !!
You wouldn't need any "subs" on the bench if the Gayloards stopped trying to sanitize the game like they do, particularly those dropkicks in the media.
Lost most interest in the great game, its just a hogwash of TV hype over analyzed by old hacks.
Try watching a game played on dirt out back of Warburton, there is the game at its purest
They dont have any sooky lar lar media trying to rub player's out by using video footage then screaming until somebody takes notice.![]()
Oh and they dont have the those two, Adrian and Andrew messing with it, thank.....k ![]()
I don't like AFL![]()

When I worked in central NSW, I used to love watchin our local team, The Blues, for who a couple of my mates played... It was brilliant!
Guys, have noticed that the local State comp WAFL, is way up on attendance this year so far. Whats it look like in VIC,SA, Tassie and to a lesser degree NSW and Queensland?
