Link me to a credible scientific study that supports that statement and reinforce that point.

150 out of ummmm how many Drs in the world 10 - 15 million. Hardly representative.

What is the agenda of those Dr's? Are they religious? part of a political party? who knows?

Until then i call shenanigans a story for sensationalist stories sake.

Haven't gay people seen what a joke marriage is in Australia ,why they want to join the joke is beyond me .my bro asked me if i could make it to his engagement party the other day ,i replied sorry mate but i was at your last one and can't make this one .What a crock the wedding day is ,all that money wasted on silly over the top clothing and a party for all the guests of whom the couple get to spend one minute with if they ae lucky. Anyway it's not my buisiness to stop them (nor is it my business to stop the heteros whom one third will end up in divorce and another third live in misery )

onlinelibrary.wiley.com/action/cookieAbsent

To date, however, there is no evidence that the development of children with lesbian or gay parents is compromised in any significant respect relative to that among children of heterosexual parents in otherwise comparable circumstances.

onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/1467-9450.00302/abstract

Children raised by lesbian mothers or gay fathers did not systematically differ from other children on any of the outcomes. The studies indicate that children raised by lesbian women do not experience adverse outcomes compared with other children. The same holds for children raised by gay men

cdp.sagepub.com/content/15/5/241.short

Results of the research suggest that qualities of family relationships are more tightly linked with child outcomes than is parental sexual orientation.

Hows that?

^^^Doesn't say much except there is "no evidence to suggest".

Doesn't matter either because you will never convince me in a million years that a child is not better for being raised by a mother(female) and a father(male).

But that is not politically correct is it, so sic the thought police onto me.

The Australian Medical Association (AMA) has distanced itself from a group of prominent doctors who say children are better off when raised by heterosexual parents, rather than same-sex couples

First paragraph of the 'study text'. I didn't read the rest. I don't care what a small interest group says. Fairly sure that they're mostly white males in their 50's or older and came to their 'study' with significant bias.

It's mildly amusing that Bigoted people see themselves as somehow "victims" .....of the thought police or Political correctness. But in reality they're the same old, same old. Cisco see's himself as a maverick who won't be silenced, he's not afraid to take on the "establisment" with his radical views......Yawn.

And when you look at the propositions, they're basically just bigotry.

So gay parents are wrong, why..... because they are.... that's all...they just are!

And asylum seekers, and Muslims, and gay marriage, and climate change, and on and on and on. No basis for his conclusion apart from a crappy youtube clip or some other half bakery. Still, he will not be silenced by the powers that be.....yawn

A mother and father will give you life skills, a mate of mine grew up without his dad and it still affects him today. I can only imagine how he would have gone been raised by a gay couple (MM or FF)

That would go really well with my morning coffee....

youtube clip? Did I miss that??

Anyways,.. I don't care what anyone does in the privacy of their own pants, or their best friends pants, but I do object to it being called "marriage".
They can call it whatever they like. Invent a word that sounds even better than marriage.
Gee, marriage doesn't have much gloss on it these days anyway so what's the attraction.
Whatever they call it can have all the same legal status as marriage but to me, the definition of marriage is a long established one over thousands of years and I don't think it should be mangled to comply with some present day trend.

is marriage a church institution...... shouldnt the use of the term marriage be decided upon by the church as opposed to politicians..... or parhaps it is not

what are the differences from a legal standpoint between a couple that get married or have a civil union?

What happens if churches refuse to marry two people of the same sex ? will it be discrimination ? are the laws going to apply to Rabbis in the Synagogue, imams in the mosque.... ?

or is this going to become one massive can of worms ???

civil unions etc -yes

when a women can get pregnant from a strap on or a bloke can give birth to a child from his ass let me know and i'll be for it, until then, in my view a marriage is between a man and a woman.

i still think a child best interests GENERALLY is to have a father and a mother.

Whilst neither of these is a scientific study, you can easily get to the studies, if, as I very much doubt, you're interested. I have seen a list of a little over 1,000 peer-reviewed published studies on precisely this subject, but am having trouble remembering where it was. I'll keep looking though.

Don't bother telling me who or what this author is - I already know. For the very few on SB who are more interested in the message than the messenger, have a read of this and let's see your comments about his article, not who he is.

I'm still looking for the list, but will give up soonish.

From their submission. In fact it is the first paragraph (my highlighting):

Doctors for the Family was established in November 2011 to highlight the health aspects of marriage and family and ensure a healthy future for our children.

Then follows two pages of stuff none of which has anything to do with health or medical opinion. Read it yourself, it's pretty short:

https://senate.aph.gov.au/submissions/comittees/viewdocument.aspx?id=72f834ec-9d0e-49b7-8f1c-a3ea3805c024

So in other words, it's just another bunch of people with a viewpoint. They are NOT making a medical statement and shouldn't be portrayed as though they were.

So big deal. There were 357 other bunches of people with an opinion, none of which get quoted anywhere in the press or by cisco.

cisco i love taking the piss out of homos but seriously all parents need to do is love the child. there are so many terrible abusive parents that surely sexuality isn't an issue. kids arent even aware of sex (shouldnt be) untill a late age anyway. Id take gay parents over an abusive family anyday

That is skewing the argument a tad.

Abuse and parenting are incompatible concepts.

The overwhelming evidence is that children raised by their biological parents who are in a stable and loving relationship are more likely to become productive and valued members of society than those not raised that way.

Children are less concerned about their parents loving them than they are about their parents loving each other.
