they are full of BS ,acccording to their nauseating aads they are supporting businesses all around the asia pacific region .In reality they and the other Oz banks are screwing over their small business customersand home loaners in Australia ,sacking staff and lining the pockets of execs and keeping intitutional investors happy.
I m sick of 30 second vomit sessions during their ads in the tennis

Its very difficult to comment but Overseas banks are now offering more bang for the buck. There is alot of competitiveness coming up at banks. I think that record profits and payouts to CEO's are finished. Problem is that most Australian organizations will layoff beneficiary workers apposed to management. Things are changing.
You can fix this by keeping out of excessive debt

Hate to break the sad reality to you, the banks mandate is not to supply jobs.....

Its to make $$ for stakeholders...... hahahah funny that! Given you have a super account that needs to make you happy....

Funny world we live in.

I don't have a super fund(I'm not that stupid) .I'm self employed and invest in other things that definitely have nothing to do with banks .

so you're staying away from housing then... cos that has been over inflated by the credit boom.

and you don't buy shares in retail companies because they're reliant with credit card purchases..

Fair sentiment, but probably impossible realistically

Way to go. If you know, understand and love a certain commodity, you should exploit it for personal gain, be it real estate, cars, gems, precious metals or model cars.

I have a mate who makes $100k a year from second hand books.

Just about everybody I know who has rental real estate is getting out of it or going to renting rooms or beds.

The old rule of gambling houses is that the bank always wins. That rule still holds true and when you look at it life these days is a gambling house.

If you are into the banks they will own your ass.
