He is one sick ****er, whatever they do, as a minimum, put away never to be released, whether in a jail or mental institution. But I'd just put him down like the worthless piece of **** he is.. I'm sure they could find some volounteers.

I actually find it amazing how the Norwegian people treat this man so well.
All the lawyers, and admin actually shook hand with him at the begining of the trial, and although he only sits a couple of meters away from sobbing parents and family of children he killed, he is completely unprotected. No barriers, no glass. Nothing.

The restraint they are able to show in unbelievable. If I was a couple of meters away from him, I doubt I could control myself.

Wherever he gets locked up - it will be a nice, easy going place. All prisoners are treated like this.

I have a HUGE amount of respect for Norway - but I simply could not do it.
I personally would like to see him die in the most painful and brutal way possible.

Heard that Bali is not too bad actually! if you can afford it the guards would take you to the beach or to Kuta for a bit of shopping, few years ago they lost a Yankee when they let him go to the beach, he swam to a waiting yacht and left Indo, the officials found out when the American consul came to pay a visit to the yanks jailed there and they could not find the guy! The made some research and he was back in the USA!
Maybe urban legend?

He should be treated with the care and respect we should show to all mentally ill people.

Contrary to the testing prior to his trial, you would have to suggest he has some type of mental illness and like Martin Bryant should be put away and treated.

Deprive him of his freedom. Provide him with the bare necessities to live and isolate him from the world.

Whilst this mans life is probably worth nothing to kill him in the name of justice stoops society to his level.

Really? I think justice would be served.

Imagine if he escaped, would he be found alive? I wouldnt think so.

I think he has caused so much pain that they should let the victims families decide, this wont happen but imo it should.

I saw the physical damage that he did to buildings in Oslo.

Like Milat and Bryant, keep him alive in prison for the rest of his life.

Death would be too quick.

And they could shoot pellets at him from an air rifle for the rest of his life so he knows how a target feels.

Stuk, i assume this is tongue in cheek and even then in very bad taste. If you are serious, WAKE UP you moron. Looking at his crimes and totally unremorseful attitude there is NO way he could be rehabilitated and even if he was "treated" as you put it, who would sign off on letting out anyway. Actually, I retract that thought, as a mate of mine, a detective and advocate of the death penalty and who worked on a particulary gruesome case once told me that in time people forget how horrific the crimes are and then some dogooders and lawyers who weren't even born at the time jump on the bandwagon and try to free the poor soul.
If you can't remove him from life, a 6ft cell, bread and water, and throw the key away.

Firstly , this bloke should not be given the chance to speak in a public court

He is obviously a fruit cake , and this information should be made public.

He should be put in a regular jail with less privileges than most .

The term should be the remainder of his life .

This would not be very long .

In no way was I advocating he be released, his illness is irreversable. But we must treat these types of people with humanity and not revert to a simple answer of kill them because they killed others.

Treatment may not serve any other purpose but to reinforce our compassion for our fellow man, regardless of their own lack of compassion or humanity.

Animals are distinctly different. Do we eat children?

I think if society is saying that killing is wrong and evil why would society kill someone.
Stripping someone of their freedom, isolating them and cutting them off from the rest of the world is pretty harsh punishment IMO. Plus this person isn't made a martyr of - perhaps as others may have been.

Ive thought about the death penalty a lot and read a lot of stuff surrounding it. In theory i'm opposed to it completly. However i wonder if in practice my viewpoint would change.

I dont think he is crazy He seemed to plan what he was doing and he
executed it <(insert whip sound here) Showed no remorse to call him mentally ill would be a cop-out.
He is a cold blooded murderer and he should be hung.
Think the media is more to blame for having such a influence on people.
