The Federal Government is planning to force all Australian servers to filter internet traffic and block any material the Government deems 'inappropriate'. Under the plan, the Government can add any 'unwanted' site to a secret blacklist.
Testing has already begun on systems that will slow our internet by up to 87%, make it more expensive, miss the vast majority of inappropriate content and accidentally block up to 1 in 12 legitimate sites. Our children deserve better protection - and that won't be achieved by wasting millions on this deeply flawed system.

(last one, I promise)
If I sign Knotboard's petition am I breaking the law or just a hypocrite by signing yours Evil P?![]()
PS - Can't log onto "Save the Net" petition - must be censored.
The trouble with petitions is that pollies don't take them seriously for the very good reason that the average dork will sign anything, but not me. I only sign for a fee. Pm your credit card details to me EP and my soul is yours.
Why is it that selling your vote is illegal but pork barrelling is not?
I seem to recall that the government got elected on a platform of high speed broadband for everyone. That's why I voted for them. That's all I care about, high speed Seabreeze and real time video of dancing girls (et al) on my pc.
Are we about to see promises reclassified yet again - core promises, hard core promises, soft core promises and seedless varieties? The only petition the pollies take any notice of is the vote and that's not a petition. It's an acquiescence.
I must be getting old. The skin on the back of my hands takes minutes to recover from the pinch test and leaves a palimpsest of debauched living that I don't even remember.
I'm off to Mumbai for a meaningful death... No, that's too hard. I'll have a beer instead.
Forget about the fee EP. This one's on me.
