Hey ppl

can anyone give me internal dimensions of a Suzuki Sierra SWB from behind the front seats (and before ya post a reply, no "frickin small" does not answer my question but your funny for thinking it)

Looking at a road trip and clearly cargo space will be at a premium. If anyone can tell me roughly how much space I will have, I can plan it out.. it's a '93 but I think they are all pretty close other than the long wheel base models

Also do the rear passenger seats normally fold down??

Thanks brains!! You help me no end

I think you can take the back seats out if you want too.

yeah I will once I get home.. I'm picking the car up from SA and doing a quick dash back to Perth.. so back seats will need to come with me..

No biggie if they don't fold down, but if they do it will make it a little easier to stack stuff in the back is all

They do fold down from memory, should be fine depending on how much gear you are taking.

Not too much really, but hoping to shoe horn a double swag in sideways

a bag with three pairs of undies (and whatever the good lady decides is absolutely crucial, she's fairly good at packing light and I'm good at ditching stuff out when she's not looking )

and going to pick up a water cube (prob 20 ltr) or two over there. An esky (size depending on capacity of the car.

Plus my camera bag.

It's the swag and esky that I need to plan for..

boucing over to auszookers.com would be the best bet.

lots of blokes/birds infected with zookvirus over there who would be glad to help.

wotcha buying, leafy or coily, rag top or tinbox?

rear seats usually flip foreward against the front seats.

I never had sierra's, only LJ's, and they either had the rear seats removed by previous owners- or fell out when the bolts rusted through........

wish I still had an LJ........ultimate in cool awesomeness, especially the 2 strokers!

I couldn't get a double swag across the back seats of a late model Ford Focus two weeks ago. The double are bigger than they look.

A double swag might be better packed upright to leave a little space for the other gear!

Will you have time to give the zook a decent check up before you hit the road?
I have a couple of auszooker contacts in South Australia who could crawl under/over it to make sure it will make it back here for you.

Good call buying your zook from over there- LJ's and Sierras are way cheaper from the wrong side of the border than over here, and usually not anywhere near as rusty!

I asked the auszookers crew for you.

first answer was pretty much on the ball.

how good are you at playing tetris?
as soon as someone comes back with measurements I will post them here for you.

Ah thanks a billion ppl!! Brains trust churning out awesome info as always!!

Shes a 93 soft top. Leaf or coil? No idea sorry

It's going to be a quick retrieve and leg it back coz I've only got a few days off work... Belonged to an older guy who had his own mechanics business, certainly looks tidy as!! Been looking for ages and it's the nicest one I've come across should be great for a little adventure!!

Swag is about 120cm so should be tight across the width.. Esky should hopefully fit in somewhere

Cheers SN

your biggest problem will be that to drive them across the paddock [long distant, tiring] you have to be on the ball all the time. very direct steering and light weight make them not a good hiway motor, however off the normal motoring they be almost unbeatable with respect.

Good thinking My user name!! will see what the results of the tape measure conclude.. Air mattress might be my backup option :)

I bet your spot on Gibberjoe!! Good thing for us is two very experienced long distance drivers and three days to do it in.. We won't be rushing which just makes it so much nicer!! Can sit on 90 and toddle along making steady ground :) easier on motion lotion too!!

Might post a cpl pics if I get a few on the way back

While we're on the topic of cars, does anyone know where I can get a hold of a new windshield fluid reservoir for a '98 Pathfinder? It's in a really crappy position behind the rh front light and apart from taking apart the front end, are there any suggestions of how to access to replace? Due to poor design the bottle has become brittle and produced a hole from being exposed to the sun.

any heavy duty plastic bottle will do the job with a bit of 90mile per hour tape.

Thanks doggie. I was thinking about Nissan but they always seem to charge double for everything. Any ideas about non-genuine parts?

Stuff like that is hard to get non gen, google the crap out of it and you might find something but I wouldnt think so, and yes Nissan parts are hard to get and a bit expensive but for that model you should be fine with availability even if its x-east its better than x-Japan.

The truth is more dissappointing, haven't used it as a double for so long so it was time to flog it off.

On mine (2012 jimny) you have about 970mm long, 960mm wide and about 1000mm High at the back half, a bit less in the front half due to the folding seats not sitting that flat. Hope that helps
