Yep I had pretty much lost interest in cricket lately but tonight was great and Ashton Agar....unbelievable smashed heaps of records.
I jumped up when he hit that last one sure it was going to the boundary, fantastic effort and such a shame he didn't get the century, he so deserved it.
Starc is on a hat trick as I am typing with 2 for 2........damn missed his chance.

I've never seen a No.11 trying to protect a No.3. It kind of highlights the fact that Hughes just can't bat.

He sure is
Also the fact that he is just 19 years old
I think he should move up the order for sure!

Couldn't disagree more, best innings Hughes has played to date. Would have been a lot easier for him to blaize away but he kept it pretty controlled.

Even when he was dismissed (Ash) he just smiled and shrugged his shoulders.
Fresh face with a great temperament. Bet this has had huge enjoyment injection for the team. If nothing else, they will win for him now

Gone to lunch with only 20 runs for an Aussie victory, with only 1 wicket required for Pom win.
So watched last laps of MotoGP, then over to the Tour de France

A result within the margin of the poor umpiring... Disappointing...

Pugwash , we agree on something

OK so the Broad decision was dumbfouding , but the LB on Watson was........totally ****ed.

Can we just have umpires that have played the game, know the game, don't work for Indian bookmakers........and can see an edge and can look at an LBW and go......"nah, going down leg!!"

Mate... I am going to out on a limb here and call the ump for the behaviour that was shown... The behaviour is racism... Favouritism to one nation over another... The ICC have got some sh!t to short!

EDIT: I can also live with vested interest... Lots of money in book making!

Clarky should have got them team to walk off after Broad was given not out that was simply "cheating" wasn"t even a close call he was out , either that or he should have instructed his bowlers to bowl body line to Broad teach the farker a lesson.

Sportsmen used to be role models that kids aspire to. I find it pretty sad when professional sportsmen are not playing the game the way wed'd want our kids to.

Isn't it ironic that a player can be suspended for off field behavior that is seen to be terrible and yet on field behavior like this isn't?

The Broad descision was an absolute shocker and who knows what the game outcome would have been had he gone earlier.

There were other calls that were marginal, and some of them definitely went our way. It was a game that we could have won, but I don't think that we really deserved to win it.

What I found more frustrating than any of the umpiring decisions was the Aussie performance. Take away Agar and Haddin's rescue knocks and look at the scoresheets. Cowan and Starc need to go for starters.

Every time we looked like coming good we found away to bat or bowl our way in to big trouble again. Blame the umpire all you want, but Clarke, Cowan and Watson should really have provided those extra 15 runs and more in their two knocks.

Geoff Boycott summed it up our batting in the first innings

Other commentator: "well Geoffrey, it's a beautiful morning to bat here"

Boycott: "Well yes........IF you can bat!"

So, out COWAN, HUGHES,SMITH.

In: Lehmann(he's there already), Ponting(nuff said), Arthur Morris( even tho Arthur Morris has been dead for 15 years his corpse could still play the moving ball better than Phillip Hughes.)
