nicole kidmans acting has already been panned! A new york critic said it was a big mistake to cast her in the role. I obviously havn't seen her perform in this movie, but she can't act for cr*p IMHO. Her choice in men is crap and she's not all that great looking. She's only famous because she married that nutbag tom cruise.

Kidman, Lurhman and (to a lesser degree in fairness) Jackman - 3 Men I never wish to see in movies. 
Even just the idea of seeing this film makes me scope the nearest bucket.
Just another movie that makes people in other countries(america) think that we are stockmen with hats and stuff, roos jumping down the main street of Sydney ect ect. Not that into it..
Nicole Kidman is an aussie icon and Hugh Jackman seems like a down to earth decent bloke.. cut them some slack.
It is probably not my cup of tea but I will go and see it anyway..
PS BMX Bandits is the best Aussie film ever.. Go Nicole, check her acting in that one !
I imagine spending 1/3 of the cost of a cinema ticket on a piece of 4" x 2" and belting yaself about the noggin would be equally satisfying and culturally enriching.
Lurhman should just make music filmclips and educational films for narcoleptics. It really would be the best outlet for his lack of restraint 'style'.
