This vid is insane. If your a rev head check it out.
The editing and camera angles are great and capture the excitement.
They even have a remote control car with a camera on it following them down the straight.

That's how Troy Bayliss had to ride the Ducati GP bike when Ducati first re-entered the Moto-GP scene again about 10 or so years ago.

The Duke had so much horsepower that it would come out of most corners with smoke pouring off the rear wheel and going sideways. They have tamed it now into a great race package......

The guy's a decent rider but the huge swingarm and tyre take most of the risk out of getting a bike sideways.

Somewhat hairier:

Awesome footage! Awesome driving!

I did wonder though why an RX7 drift car only had 375hp .......... then realised typical Yanks, they'd dropped a V8 in it. WTF? Pretty easy to get 600hP out of the rotary

Most drift cars don't have insane horsepower, you don't need it. LS1 swaps into an RX7...or basically anything these days is insanely popular as it's a very reliable, light motor. Still you can't beat that brap brap

I remember seeing Wayne Gardiner riding the early version of the big bang honda at Phillip Island, coming onto the main straight with the engine bouncing on the rev limiter, , with smoke coming off the FRONT WHEEL !!! that guy was/ is the greatest!

Impressive... Early dirt drifting that is still very popular in Nth America is Flat Track. I hear some guys have adapted these to drift on Bitumen... I am building a dirt track bike for the road. Street Tackers they call them in the US.... Tho wont be throwing it sideways down the roads, well not planned. Its all fun!

Yeah it ruined it for me when i saw it had a V8 in it good driving and riding no doubt,

But the RX7 just isnt right with a V8. if it was a 20B or even a mutant quad rotor it would have been and sounded sooo much more awesome!

oh and 600Hp is a big push for a 13B-REW But for a 20B its easy peasy. Ive been known to lurk around in the odd rotary

Not so much of a push, im aiming for 500hp with mine (dropping down a turbo size or 2 from that typically found on 600hp 13B's) for the exact reasons a 600hp twin rotor aint suited to drifting. But it's still track/dyno only setup at those power levels.

But you are right, why ruin an rx-7 with an LS motor- just buy a vette perhaps (in the same regard i'd never ruin a vette or mustang with a rotor). I much prefer Mad Mike's quad rotor drift 7.

Anyway I don't really rate the rx-7 driver at all, but he's learning (everyone got to start somewhere). From watching a reasonable amount of drifting american's tend just powerslide their way into drift [}:)], makes you wonder if they'd cope at all with a 180hp ae86 or something. No one beats the japs at making cars dance.

The only drifting I've done is when I've broken a mast or boom and ended up drifting down-wind to do the walk of shame.......
