Regardless of your preference, the horse is a legend in it's field. Congrats to the owners/trainers/breeders for the achievement...and obviously to the horse itself. I'm not a horse-racing person, nor gambler but I can see that it's a momentous achievement.

As for the argument whether it's a sport??? what actually defines a 'sport'?

...from the oxford dictionary;

"Pronunciation: /spɔːt/
noun
1an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment"

I'll bet that Horse-racing pretty much covers that definition.

Our species has a lot to answer for in the way we manipulate the genetics of domestic species for financial gain.

Thouroughbreds have more than their share of health problems as a byproduct of race-winning speed.

Most not aware that the average un heralded usually has an ending that is combined with a top up of lead.
Mates wife takes these when the race days are done, to try and reduce this, and retrain, mostly it is beyond her capacity...sadly.
me, I just like horses, for what they can do and be, as just a "horse" .
Hope she wins, and has a relaxed life after racing, just like her Mum
