Nah - one of ourt customers found a board pinched from the shop at Cashies in Innaloo. I reported it, cops visited the sellers house & found a whole swag of stuff including these 2 x surfboards.If no-one claims them they go back to Cashies.
Interesting talking to the crime squad. They are about to launch a 'stolen property' reporting bata base on a www where you can report anything stolen.
No waste of time by cops filling in & filing reports (huge time allocation). Once its listed they can simply do a search using any of the fields of the owner filled report to locate owners of anything they find. This should be a huge leap forward in helping to stop the scum bags.
Not a solution but a nice move as lots of stuff goes unreported simply because victims either 1) dont want to waste cops time OR 2) think the reporting process is a waste of their own time. My friendly crime buster reckons if they could identify more stuff as stolen they would get lots more convictions.
Now we just need the courts to start handing out penalties instead of palm slaps.
I reckon we should have a public name & shame file where everyone convicted of shop-lifting or theft has their mug shot posted. Stores could use face recognition camera software to alert them to anyone in the store who is on the hot list.
Perhaps I should run for Parliament on an anti-scum ticket
