I knocked a big gaping crack in the nose of my Pocket Wave last week. I've filled the chasm with knead-together epoxy stick and re-shaped. It's looking OK.

Now I just want to put a final coat of gloss white over the repair to make it look half decent and seal any remaining small cracks or holes.

Do I need a two-pack? Can I get away with a spray can? Is there some other type of paint I should use? I don't have any fancy spraying gear.

Have just finished glassing what sounds to be a similar crack in a starboard wood construction freestyle board. I gouged out the 6 inch long crack to start with and found to my suprise that the crack had carried back about 2 1/2 inches beyond what was clearly visible.
Not sure if your ding is to the same extent but did find that if i supported the nose and grabbed both rails on the nose that i could flex the crack.
After filling with epoxy and qcell mix, sanded back and have just applied 2 layers of fiberglass tape with the bias of the cloth offset. This is an attempt to ensure the continuity of the skin is maintained, for i feel that just filling would of cracked again down either side of the filler material.
Check out the board lady, very helpfull.
Good luck in your repair.

You can use spray cans from the hardware, just don't buy cheapo ones, the spray pattern is not as good and they tend to be thinner so they run more.

Use Kilrust, give it one coat a day for 5 days then give it a good week in hot sun. Rub back with 600 - 1000 - 1500 wet n dry with lots of water. Don't use much pressure with the 600 that is just to get the orange peel texture out of the paint before you go to the finer grades, you only wnat to take off 2 layers of paint not rub back to your repair!!!

I know its more expensive/more effort but you will notice the difference of two pack, really much better

Been a fan of epoxy kilrust for years but a few weeks back my local paint store of choice didn't have any in white,a sails pitch began for rust-oleum ,even sticks to plastic,no primer required and while the trigger nozzle takes a bit of getting used to it can be sprayed at any angle, yep even upside down.Used a can for that job and went back for 2 more to do a board bottom and nose after some reshaping.
[$12;00can]Worth looking at,i will certainly be using it again. www.thepaintstore.com/Universal-s/239.htm
