The recent topic of "are you a f**k up" got me inspired for this one, as they often go hand in hand....
Had an old ford boonga for my first car, it copped a flogging[}:)]
When the exhaust started coming loose, simply wired it to the chasis with a coathanger
and plugged the holes with that knead it metal. when the back tailights got smashed, we used red cellophane to bodge em up and i even think the back bumper was held on with fishing line.
Tranny change on another car of mine, i screwed the metal fluid lines, managed to cut the twisted bit out and replace with some high pressure hose and a couple of hose clamps....dodgy.
Others have been using fibreglass resin to patch an ally boat, sewing up a custom para anchor out of a tarp, the list goes on...................
Im sure there must be some epic ones out there.......so go on....fess up.![]()
Bought a 1978 datsun skyline for $200.
Riveted sheet metal from a fence over all the rust holes.
Painted whole car with exterior paint using paint brushes (including racing stripe).
Fixed leaking water pump with blu-tac (i **** you not).
Sold for $500.
needed to re-position my footstraps on my windsurfer.
went to local hardware shop and bought some plastic screwplugs.
drilled a few holes in board, put plugs in, fitted footstraps and guess what?
it did not work.
since found out you need a separate box, that has to fitted/glued into position.
handyman i certainly ain't.
