If a boxing match only goes for 30sec, should the boxers get their fee?
Last nights match was a farce, Danny Green should have only got his aperance fee and the other bloke should have got nothing IMO. Green didnt even touch him, what a joke!!! 
it's disappointing to see brigg's brought to that (he can actually fight very well). Maybe he's been hitting the drugs a bit hard, maybe he was told to take a dive.
If you are going to "take a dive", at least cop one to the face and make it look like it might have been able to knock you down

A lawyer guy said today that Brigg's has to be paid...unless there is a special clause in his contract....and people will not legally get their money back unless the green machine offer it.
You would think mr big danny green would have made sure this guy could stand a round or 2....to me he is just an idiot for nor making sure of this..
Boxing is overrated now with UFC The last two green fights have been apauling alomost a money grab via matchfixing and corruption.
One would have to look at the idiots who actuolly support and encourage this.
That briggs is used to being kicked in the head in the octogon (baseball bat kicks) and still stands so how the hell would he go down after 30 second with gloves?
I've always liked Danny Green, but just last week on ABC Perth, I listened to him bag the NSW boxing federation etc etc at length and go on and on about how he would not be fighting the bloke if he wasn't fit to fight and stood a chance of winning.
Well that's a lot of egg and BS onya face Danny. Don't go criticising the bloke for taking a dive when you new full well that you were allowing a bloke 3kgs over the limit and 3 yrs past his heyday to get in the ring so YOUR company could make a profit from a meaningless facsimile of a title defence.
Whilst Danny has been stooged by the boxing world before, the buck stops with Danny on this one. His company should make at least a 50% refund I reckon.
The news over here is that Centrebet closed the book early on this one

Briggs is a very real contender. There is something more behind this, even if he wasn't fit you dont fall to a glancing hit like that. Brigg's has had some lows in his life til now, this is definitely a new one.
I don't think paul has done much mma. Nathan was a K1 champion. Paul did Muay Thai- not octagon, but it ain't boxing either- he boxes like a kickboxer, hard to match a boxer on his own terms. All that indicates is the guy should be able to take some punishment and he has focused on boxing for long enough now to be technically good and he's proved that in the past with Adamek.
I don't follow/watch any of it though, just kickboxed when paul & nathan were at the top of their games so i've liked their handywork for a while.
green and mundine have been conning the public for a few years now , looking for easy pay days , this was another.yet the blokes who are actually real contenders like Vic and Katsidis get no media coverage.What a joke.

Why would Danny green bother putting in the work and hours of training and put his rep on the line only to be labelled a fight fixer or worse
Too much sceptisism exists for the honest boxer when something as obvious as this happens

His camp pushed all the way fro the fight and were the ones who stood (ironic term) to gain the most $$. Instead of accepting the NSW ruling it was pushed through over here in Perf (no doubt the strength of local popularity helped smoove the process) to ensure a profit was turned.
Seriously - as if Danny's camp didn't know the shocking mental and physical condition Briggs is in?? If they didn't know then they should be flipping burgers for a living.
I heard Danny (repeatedly) say on radio last week that he garaunteed that Briggs was fit and that he assured everyone that the fight was genuine and that he would not go ahead with it if it wasn't.
He really did go on like a stuck record and was scathing (to the point I thought he may have been worrying his lawyer) of the NSW officials that knocked back the fight. He also arrogantly belittled the process and officials - who we all now know were 100% correct.
Now there is a lot of smoke and mirrors in Boxing, but if you are going to publicly stake your rep on the line and confidently use terms like garauntee, as Danny did, then you better be damn sure you are not just sprouting rhetorical BS. Alternatively, be prepared to back up your 'garauntees' financially or kiss your rep goodbye.
No one should make money out of that fight.

Briggs probably had a 1 in 3 chance of knocking down a sparring partner. All he had to do was connect with one of the 3 hazy figures he could see before him.
One look at the bloke on the scales and Danny's camp knew this would be easy money - hence allowing him to exceed the limit by 3kgs. Absolutely NO WAY would the Green camp have allowed an opponent with a decent chance to be 3 kgs over him.
EDIT: And just to emulate Danny and repeat myself He (Danny) garaunteed everything was kosha and that the NSW blokes didn't know up from down. I don't recall Danny stating Jeff - who now hates me guts - reckons Briggs is hitting harder than ever etc etc.
Perhaps if the sight of $$ wasn't clouding his judgement (which is the minimum you could accuse the Green camp of) then he may even have been wise enough to use the other party's words for traction instead of placing his rep on the line, of his own choice.

Australya wide , numerous betting agencies closing their markets as early
as 10 on the day of the fight , in a 2 hour period the odds came into $1.07
from $11,10 this is a sting that got out of hand ( loose lips and all that )
There should be an inquiry into this crap if boxing Australya expect fight fans to take boxing seriously
Boxing NSW almost killed the sport off over here 20 years ago probably part of the reason theres a shortage of quality cattle today
