Advice needed- excellent wind forecast this week but broke my little toe stabbing my foot into the back footstrap yesterday.
Tried strapping it but strapping came straight off while sailing and just had to stop because it hurt and was awkward getting that back foot in the strap (wind 25 knots and choppy).
Will booties allow pain to be tolerable enough?! Any other tips welcome. Awesome conditions forecast this week
Thx
Pete

Good luck, little toes are the worst to break, done mine a few times now. Never tried windsurfing with a broken toe though. I dont think booties will help much, but if you try to splint it with the next toe over and then put a pygmy condom over them it may help support it while out on the water

I've used electrical tape to strap the little toe to the few alongside. I also wear booties, so there was no sudden pain as I put my foot into the footstraps.

Hey go to the chemist & get a roll of leukoplast BLUE, it has the blue plastic ring around it. its designed for use in water, when i got cuts or blisters this stuff stays on, it will roll up a bit from ya foot straps but just roll it down again & it sticks.
maybe this tape with a small split taped to toe next to it.
hope this helps.

Really appreciate the great tips and will likely use a combination of all!
Happy sailing to all

Or you could move to WA and not get any wind to go sailing in.

be careful...have also broken my little toe in the past trying to get the foot into the footstrap....6 weeks to heal properly....took ages to walk properly and put my full weight on the foot....how can such a small bone cause so much grief?
