I like it.

Have you read the book? Have you read many Tim Winton books? I think the main reason I like it is that I have read quite a few of his books, like his style, and can see that coming through in the screenplay.

When Fish rowed through that paddock in the second episode, and the pig spoke to him in the first, that was classic Winton. I reckon Lester is a champion too.

Edit: thread title modified for accuracy

Foxtel only, Showcase channel, Sunday nights for the first screening of each episode. They are being repeated pretty regularly through the week after they first screen.

I found it boring and some of it a bit depressing.
I really liike Geof Morrel or whatever his name is ever since he was in Grass Roots.
He did a brilliant job in that and I think he is a great actor, so it's not the actors fault.
Also, all the old cars have brilliant shiny paint jobs, including the old truck.
In reality, all thos old cars only had shiny paint for a year or two because the paints back then were crap. After a few years they were always a flat finish because nobody bothered to polish the cars.
There was no such thing as silicone polish then, only wax based polishes which stayed shiny for a month or two maybe.

I just thought thew whole thing was / is slow and boring with the boring being punctuated by depressinig.
Just my opinion.
Maybe the fianl episode will pick it up.

And clearly they had gel in their hair and not Brill Cream.. sheesh! I mean what's going on??

Good to see 6 hrs of WA Teev production showing nationally. Sorely needed around these parts so hope CS is the start of more of the same over here.

BTW Rellie - how long have you been hanging around with 'fluffers'?
