Looks like Sydney is finally getting a wet and wild, complete with wave pool.

Due to open Dec 2013, and have the world's tallest water slide and 3m waves in the wave pool.
So the question is, 3m measured on the front or on the back? And can I take my SUP in there? ![]()
edit - 2013 not 2012 ![]()
it will never be better than mount druit waterworks![]()
bet they wont have a slide that someone attached a razor blade to with chewing gum eiver aye mate![]()
Back in the day we had the Aquajet at Coffs Harbour and the Groove Tube at Repton. Both have gone. Pretty sad. Can't blame the carbon tax though.
Thats no fun.. If i were a tourist id Skip Sydney and head straight to Perth and visit the bell tower. Guaranteed disappointment for the whole family !!!
Unless the water is going to be heated they are wasting their time....... Even then queuing in 15degrees whilst wet is no fun no matter how warm the water actually is.
Financially viable for 6 months a year
My local water slide...

"Further down the road from the picnic area, the Big Crystal Creek Rockslides can be found, which is another popular swimming destination known for its natural waterslide formed by mossy rocks"

Apparently at least the wave pool will be heated.
If only they would add a cable wake / ski park then we would be set.
On the other hand, summer weekends at the park will surely be either a) an expensive day out or b) full of more surf rage than Bondi at xmas.
Wet and Wild on the Goldy is a bit of a bogan fest so can you imagine what this one will be like?? Gangs roaming the place, ethnics looking for fights, a thousand people pissing in the water, drive by shootings due to long queues, certain cultures taking over 100 square meters with spit roasts and hookah's, ferals from Macquarie Fields with no teeth named Gazza and Shazza punching on, etc etc .
It will be ful sik!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a friend at work who has a rule for movies: "I never watch movies that have a helicopter in them."
My rule is: I never go anywhere there is a crowd.
Bull**** flyover with no queues
I get wet - and wild, if you must - for I normally find quiet solace and intense focus from getting wet. This happens in Sydney's west already.
I assume it will be on the old Drive-In site.
They had previously had plans for an Indoor Snow Park.
There's a nice gentle slope on the site... worked well for the old Drive-In.
Another way I get wet and wild in western Sydney. Still sitting with a wet butt, but arms and abs get a better workout...

There is a training camp on the 23rd and 24th of January at the polo section of the PNSW website.
There was a bit about it on the news recently. Said the board riding pool will offer up 10' waves and a 175 metre ride, annual pass $79.
Maybe we'll see a westy world champ one day![]()
I noticed a bit of western suburbs bagging on this thread or at least the people in them . So please explain this to me . As a builder working all over sydeny why is it the closer i work to the coast the more stuff gets stolen . eg. Wheelbarrow & shovels stolen brookvale. Mates car broken into for tools plam beach materials stolen off site seaforth.the list just goes on not just the northern beaches either randwick materials stolen off site etc People its not happening out west so please explain or is it bogans dont renovate so the only people i have to worry about are renovating yuppies ![]()
