We've been playing with the standard one at work (ROAM I think). I find it a lot more user friendly than the GoPro, not that I've used the GoPro much. That big slider is so easy to find wherever it's mounted and without looking you can tell so easily if it's on or off. I also like the form factor better, much neater helmet or goggle mount.
I guess the main downside to the ROAM is requiring a computer to make record setting changes (I think). However the Contour+ has addressed this with a physical sliding switch on it. The + also has the advantage to check what you're aimed at via BT which I think would be handy.
Yep. That's what I'm after. Simple turn key operation. What do you think of the dynamic exposure range ?. Do you have any stills from your camera so I can have a look ?
I have the contour with built in GPS and it's great for when I go hanggliding (bragging rights) as it's mounted on the side of my helmet. It's a lot smaller then the GOPro and it doesnt protrude out to far and look stupid like the GOPro when they are mounted on the top of a helmet. The HD resolution is excellent, the sound is good and the software is easy downloadable. Perhaps the only complaint is the battery life which lasts an average of about 1 hour and you cant get a bigger battery unlike the GOPro which has a slot for a bigger battery. All said I like the Contour, it's easy to use, small and compact and takes some great flying action in HD mode...
