Why is it when when a local premier beach gets inundated with weed it gets national coverage. We deal with seaweed collection on our points every summer and seem to deal with it. It sort of becomes fun to get through the weed and out to the surf without getting stung by a cobbler.
Please explain......
Well normaly it's not much of a problem.
It happens every year but we just put up with it.
But this year there has been a complaint on behalf of the GW Shark Society because the stringy bits are getting stuck in their gills and causing all sorts of problems.
It's really putting them off their food. ![]()
If it's not fixed soon they will eat elsewhere. ![]()
Or why is that part of the new $6.85 million launch last week to prevent sharks has a $200 000 enclosure being built to test the effectiveness. Oh and guess were its getting built? That's right Cott![]()
Yes,.. but you can have too much of a good thing.
ANd besides, you only need to floss after a meal and they haven't eaten anyone for a few weeks.
Whats the go mr Admin Galah your mates grenie living it up in Canada Snowboarding all-morning kite-surfing all afternoon . and your still moderating average Joe rat race retards like myself?
Vote +1 for free trip to Canada for Galah.
I have just seen the paper now and didn't realise when I posted earlier - they closed the beach. For seaweed. ![]()
WTF has this world come to?
Will they be raking the sand next to make sure there is nothing in it that could hurt the city folks' footsie wootsies?
FFS we waded thru a LOT more weed at the edge than that, to sail at a number of spots last year, for months on end. Nobody was "held under by it" like the squid in the paper claimed could happen.
