I'm so sick of the negativity from the greens predominantly but also other sources as
well.
Children are being fed propaganda at school about the dire straits we are supposed to
be in.
Yet we we live in a time of prosperity, safety and relatively good health.
Here is another positive example of what we are capable of.
We should be proud of ourselves
• Each week approximately 500 people are killed or maimed by mines (this is one person every 22 minutes). Each week, 200 children die as a result of landmines.
• Over 100 million mines are currently active in the poorest countries of the world, with another 100 million in stockpiles. 26 nations are currently riddled with landmines. In Angola and Cambodia there are more landmines than there are people in the population. The countries most mined are:
- Egypt - 23 million
- Iran - 16 million
- Iraq – 10 million
- Afghanistan – 10 million
- Angola – 10 million
- China – 10 million
• In Cambodia alone, there are 35,000 amputees as a result of landmine injuries. In Angola there are 100,000 such amputees. 30% of all landmine casualties require amputation of at least one limb.
• Of the preventable causes of child death, landmines are rank sixth.
• The medical costs of surviving a landmine are estimated at US$8,000 per person. The cost of clearing a landmine is estimated at US$200-$1,000 (Rosenfeld, 2000).

It says in the video that the natural fish stocks were collapsed by over fishing. So now they have to grow their own fish. The doom sayers probably mentioned the fish stocks were in danger of running out..
This is exactly whats happening in australia, marine parks and reserves are the answer.. Guess who oppose the construction of more marine parks.. Not the greens..
Is that what we should do? ignore the Environmentalist Nazis, catch all the fish untill they are gone, then grow them ourselves in our bath tubs??
Havent even mentioned oil yet take your blindfold off bro

Positive thinking, "propaganda": seems to me like standing in the middle of the road as 2 lights are coming in. Perhaps with a bit of luck and not listening to people telling me to consider that they might not be two motorcycles but a truck indeed...
Yeah, in that case I would remain positive too and do nothing, just in case...
It seems to be the way of the world, when I was kid I was convinced that the world would be blown up in a nuke war, that was during the cold war era.
Now kids are being scared into thinking that the world is doomed with climate change.
Its all about control I think
H.L. Mencken: “The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule.”
Desiderata.
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.
Thanks kiteboy dave, that's the best thing I've read in ages. I had tears down my cheeks reading that one. I like the line
