Green had him on the back foot from the start!

Would've been more value if DG had've given RJJ a chance to perform a few of his legendry theatrics first though! RJJ looked flat from the get-go...

Looked like the fight was thrown to me...I don't really follow boxing closely.
But maybe it was so Green can have a rematch with Mundine???

If it was, that was some good acting.

I thought the same from the shorts on the news, but when you see the full fight Danny hit him in the temple with that initial right. Then during the barage he threw he hit him with 2 clean left hooks to the temple and some great upper cuts through his guard. At the end of the day I've realised there is no way Roy would throw a title fight. Roy went in cocky and unprepared, Danny went in with a game plan to hunt him down early and any sign of weakness he was going to pounce.

What Danny needs to do is back it up against Hopkins, that way noone can say it was luck. He is very dedicated and a great fighter, I've followed him from the start. He was ripped off against the German Marcas Bayer, but still showed great sportsman ship even though it tarnished his record somewhat.

He's come down in weight and fought Sean Sullivan and won, but not without consequence. Still ended up in hospital dehydrated and exhausted through not being able to prepare for his proper fighting weight. Same went with Mundine, he made Danny chase him all around the ring way under weight whilst he just jabbed his way to victory.

If Mundine comes up to Danny's fighting weight he would get slaughtered IMO. Go beat up some yanks and forget Mundine I say.

It would be nice to see Mundine get his smug grin smacked to the floor though

If your gonna be a smart @rse and continually hold your gloves down, leaving ya head exposed you are gonna get your smart @rse handed to you on a plate. Contemptuous. Especially to a renowned power hitter. One punch and you are seeing Tinkerbell. Would you like a side serve of humility with that?

RJ looked flat before the bell though. Strange. Time will reveal all (supin not right with RJ I reckon) but he was hunted from the start by a far hungrier opponent.

Full marks to Green though, RJ's speed would still be a worry to anyone. he wanted it. He got it.

1st boxing match I have bothered to watch in years. Popcorn was still warm by the end.

Huge Green fan, booked the fight on fox $50 and it was over in 122 seconds. The wife and kids said what a waist of money. My reply NO WAY, I was shocked and totally happy for Danny a true good guy who also hits the water.

The fight got a mention by Bille Joe Armstong (Green Day frontman) the other night just before belting out Give Me Novocaine

His words were something along the lines of:

"Saw the fight .... and I guess you could have called it a Green Day!"

LOL it's called seppo syndrome... arrogant, cocky and egotistic. He thought it was going to be a walk in the park and got his arse handed to him.

NowindSurfer, no offence but light/welter weight is a total different kettle fish to cruiser/heavy weight. Tactics used and punching power are totally different.

But that was a great couple rounds and I love my feather/light weights as much as the cruiser and light heavey weights.

This video shows a small bit of the dedication it takes to be able to knock out 25 out of 28 fighters that have got in the ring. Two that lasted the distance where great dancers and stayed out the way the other was a samoan that would have got up after being hit with a sledge hammer.
