Yo, I haven't seen that movie since me was young.
Thought it was funny at the time, in the Hawke era it still represented some contemporary concepts.
But only as long as it was with friends, as a joke, and with at least a six-pack into said party.
Now I thought I'd download and share with a few yank friends where I currently reside.
I have no problem with it, but of course the concept is 'passé', and surely rather foreign to them (everything seems to be at times...).
What do you'z think of that movie, any common factors with the present ?

A bit of trivia for you....the movie was filmed in my house!! We had just bought the house and were moving up from Melbourne when Dad got a call from the producers and real estate agent to say can we please use it for 6 weeks before you move in...we'll pay you too! Not sure how much we got paid but we got put up in the salubrious location of the La Mancha Caravan Park in Berowra and endured 4 weeks out of 6 in torrential rain. Just where you want to be when it's pissing down rain!!
We went and saw the movie being filmed quite a lot. Dad is even in the opening when Don is going off to vote posing as a gardener.
When it was all done all the residents from the street (it was a culdesac) got a private screening of the film to say thanks. I was only 8 at the time so just thought all the nudity to be gross. Nowadays is a slightly different story, Candy Raymond was such a babe.
Did you know Barry Mackenzie was meant to play Don but he hurt his back just before filming was due to start so John Hargreaves stepped in.
Mum and Dad sold the house around 10 years ago. We had made some fairly big renovations to it since we moved in but I still remember it clear as day whenever I see the movie again. In my older years I used to snigger at the sex that took place in my room through the course of the movie. I own a copy on DVD now and when my kids are a bit older I'll show it to them 
Bit of a so so movie.
Brother-in-law made a lot of the props for the sets,(carpenter) so sick_em, he faffed about a bit with the inside of your house.
Makers didn't have enough cash to pay brother in-law in full when filming finished up, so he took Dons VW from the movie, as part payment. I had the use of this for a few months when I was in Sydney. Bloody thing could be a pain in the arse. Be heading out towards Liverpool form his place along the Hume, and the VW would just cut out. Roll to a stop, wait 5mins, and it would fire up again. Always a worry was it was an old 6V battery system
Never did find out what the problem was.
Not sure what brother in-law he finally did with the old girl in the end.
you might as well get a copy of "the club" while you are at it!!
bad boy bubby is sure to make them squirm for the first five minutes and turns into quite reasonable flick !!

We have held fancy dress Dons a number of times and the subject of the house has always come up.
Prawnhead - Got a copy of the Club a few years back and was blown away by Graham Kennedy's performance - didnt think he could pull it off given I grew up watching him doing double entendres on Blankety Blanks

I don't disagree with the so-so-ness of the movie, but then again it has some amount of representation of the times then.
Now the download is sooooo slow...
