... on Anti-Australian "sentiment". (or is it stupidest?)
Never thought this existed, was pointed out to me by a workmate.
Incredibly bad, I dare not think what stupid moron could have written such a thing..
Thats life mate and you have to put up with it.
I am currently debating with myself whether or not to reply to a woman who writes for the Guardian in the UK. She was a personal friend of one of the pedophiles at the school I attended in Tanzania and is in complete denial as to the fact that he was a pedophile regardless of the fact that he admitted it and apologised for it, in writing.
The point is is who the fark gives these people license to write the crud they do?
The answer to that one is simple. They are encouraged because it creates controversy which attracts readership regardless of the truth or accuracy of what they write.
And readership sells papers.
End of story.
Meh! who cares! It is a free world.... If you don't like it just don't come here! Or return to where you came in the first place!![]()
I thought it was pretty much on the money.
If i was running an overpopulated island chain across the road from a big empty land full of minerals and oil/gas, hardly any armed forces, and begging to be invaded, I would be thinking of ways to justify a little invasion,
maybe get the population to get angry enough to agree to invade![]()
theres a good chance that the big Islands allies would think long and hard before backing them up, maybe trying all sorts of diplomatic compromises instead![]()
^^^Tomorrow when the war began? Luckily Indo couldn't organise it's way out of a paper bag, so that'll never ever happen.
The 2nd half of the 'Attacks on Australians' section is a bit... off topic and bordering on inflammatory? Listing 3 or 4 known horrible incidents where 1st or 2nd gen immigrants have labelled themselves as not aussie seems pretty meaningless to the context of the article.
Gotta rule out those who hate it here and stay here.
A case of bad immigration, anti-their-place, anti-here, for a plethora of reasons. I travel US+Canada on biz and I hear the same all the time over there too.
Aussies abroad: agreed quite a few of those drunken kids in Europe - Spain and Italy a lot.
Heard people bitch about those, but never heard someone translate it into anti-australian 'sentiments' on that basis.
I've seen Australians over seas and have concluded even I dislike us! I swear landing in a foreign country makes some people turn up the Bogan ten fold. I am saddened that these are the only Australians some people meet..
Quoting Wikipedia " Sometimes, global mass media stereotypically portray Anglo-Celtic Australians as wild, uncouth, boorish, uncultured, agrestic, sport-obsessed, alcoholic layabouts obsessed with consuming beer"
