Hi Rochelle,

I'm right into fishing - mostly offshore action though.
Have been known to flick some lures around the bay & estuaries too.

If you've fished peel, I assume you've got a boat.
The spots you mentioned are popular locations, just a matter of good bait presentation & the right tide, not to mention persistance.

Target a species & go to the local tackle shop for info on bait, plastics, & gear.

Try Ausfish.com.au
Be warned - It's more addictive than the seabreeze forum.

Good Luck.

Personally I think ur wasting ur time fishing inside the Bay fullstop!! Even tho I live in WA now I spent 21 years growing up on the coast where ur fishing.
There were'nt even any decent fish there 5 years ago compared to 15 years back. My old man lives on Coochie and cant even get a crab these days.

ATM I would'nt eat anything out of the bay or ocean between the goldy or Caloundra with the oil slick and all.........

Good luck at the fish market

oil slick? = 20km of black oil soaked beach and wildlife on Moreton plus Bribie and Sunshine coast. Add to that 31 shipping containers of chemicals floating and sinking just off the coast.....

I don't have too many troubles catching a feed. Burley definitely helps. When the burley brings in Grinners or pike, I put them out live.
That said, Green zones will change a lot!

I'll be releasing everything for a while.

Never could understand how peole eat fish caught from around the Pinkenba Poo Shute?

Alot of fish travel through the area but aren't permanent so they are quite safe, alot of people eat fish from Manly boat harbour which does get sewage and also the runoff from antifoul etc, that would be worse. That said I have not fished at either or eaten fish from there. The opposite side is getting nice squire etc if you can get close enough before port authorities chase you away.

I'm looking forward to my outboard being fixed and getting out soon for some tailor, I don't eat any fish- I just enjoy the sport of it . I've also never had a problem getting fish in the bay bagging out the majority of the time (not that I've really bothered with fishing much in the last few years), it certainly isn't as easy as when I was growing up though. That said I don't tend to go for reefies as much as I should.
