Looking for a four door ute work and play, found a ranger for sale looks pretty good but thought I'd get some feedback and reviews first

Cheers

Not sure if this is the same model, but I do remember the Police (not the band) having issues with them.

Are the Rangers a Mazda design?

Pretty much the same as the BT50

That would give some confidence then.

I have a 2010 BT-50, same vehicle. Its only done 45000km but its been faultless so far. My father had them for years and had no problems. His last ranger had over 200k with no dramas.

Only problem I know of is towing heavy trailers in 5th gear will stuff the gearbox but thats not isolated to the ranger or bt, a lot of 4wd's are the same.

Drove around in different Bt50's for 3 years. 2008/09/10/11 models. All faultless ute's.
Never heard about the 5th gear going before, we used to tow a dual axle 2t trailer all the time (lots of highway) never had an issue, also around 500kg in the tray.
Lots of power, great fuel economy - 630-700kms per tank. Done approx 200,000kms between the vehicles - zero problems.

Driving a 2010 BT-50. Had nothing but problems with the warning lights staying on.
Dealer hasn't got a clue how to fix it.

The only problem i can see is it has a FORD badge on it. Get a hilux or a imax.
