Forecast for Sydney is wrong

It does not happen often but the forecast is wrong today Wednesday 18th July for both the swell direction and the period.
See Manly HL waverider buoy for the correct readings. almost 180 degrees (South) and period 10-16 secs.

I checked myself by surfing a spot that faces south. Nice little waves..

it happens up here in Port maquarie a fair bit,

ther was a stong wind warning a few weeks back, i was at the beach pumped up till sunset and nothing.,.,hahaha cants

Swell was nice at Newcastle this afternoon. picked up to a solid 3 ft in the afternoon and a couple of 4ft sets just before dark. be interesting to see what its like tomorrow

Yes, the Newcastle forecast is what I had in Sydney. Maybe the forecast was out by 100 miles..

We can't expect it to be perfect. It is after all a forecast, ie prediction.
