Hi folks,

Thanks to some great advice to go for ADSL2 + phone line I was all set to go with Excetel's tops plan as per Whirlpool http://bc.whirlpool.net.au/bc/isp-340-5/exetel-adsl2-phone.htm

Unforunately I procrastinated and went to sign up today to find the plans have changed (even though the original details are still up on Whirlpool) and gone significantly downhill from the previous contracts.

Previously they were $10 phone line + $40 ADSL 2 (with 6Gb incl) and 100 free calls per month. Extra calls were 10c.

They are now $30 + $25 for 4Gb. Calls are now 18c and and no freebies at all! Bugger! Less goodies for more dosh!

Can anybody suggest a decent deal comparable to the original? I'd like a seperate phone line (to keep my number and better quality) around 4-6 Gb and approx $50 p/mth - preferably with 10c-ish calls and some freebie calls or a cheaper plan.

Cheers

Will avalook curly but I was keen to also have a seperate phone line from the same provider.

So far I can't find a better ISP deal than Excetel's newest deals - even though they aren't as sweet as previously.

Have a look at the Optus Fusion $99 and $129 plans. A lot of bang for your buck in those two.

Optus also has good looking deals on iPhones and other top end mobiles. Good thing about those deals is that you can eliminate land line usage altogether.

Phone usage is virtually unlimited (bar international), you have the internet with you wherever you have mobile coverage, mini computer, camera and GPS with Google maps. Then at home the phone can be used as a modem for your desktop computer. Sounds sexy to me.

If you're able too (ie line is enabled for it), and you wanted weren't fussed about the separate line you want I'd be checking iprimus out dude

Just hooked it up myself no line rental, free local, national calls, super cheap international dialling and ADSL2+
