It's old news that we got a few tornadoes through on the 23 feb around Kiama and Nowra on the NSW south coast. But seeing we have so many meteorological fans here I though I'd show you what I found. Apparenty F2 on the tornado scale. the forest was completely mangled in a 100m wide strip as it came off the ocean and it chugged all the way to Nowra.

I happened across the path at night driving through on the weekend. The destruction was incredible. The weird "contrail" bit is that I found a 1m tuna carcass in the bush. This was about 1km from the sea. Admittedly not far from Gerroa road. No flesh left as you might expect after a week of bird/fox/ants. Maybe the work of a prankster or someone who didn't want 30kg of tuna or ... it was attracted by the frothing surface of the sea and got sucked up!

Heres a link for news on the event.

The photos of the damaged don't really do it justice. That bush along gerroa road where a lot of the pictures are taken was a tall dense forest of blackbutts and other tough wiry eucalypts. The wind tore every single branch off. You can see Gerroa road in the top right of the second picture.

someone flew a little RC camera over the damage that gives some perspective.

Great photos, thanks.

I love the idea of massive tuna fanging around in the air. Is that rubbish or something near the tuna (just in front of the feet)?

Well spotted. That does appear to be a piece of newspaper, which does add weight to the idea it was dragged there.

It's great, it sounds (and looks) like you are flying a mini chainsaw !

the few witness reports to the event claim the 'twister' actually went from nowra out to sea

^^ quite obvious that the Govt put the fish there, and/or it was HAARP or something.

Check the fish for fluoride (land-based fish are full of it)

You have no idea! The damage to the trees was caused by a bunch of aliens looking to do a crop circle, but they got a bit tipsy and got the location wrong.

The tuna? Well, obviously the aliens had to eat something.

Witnesses? I think everyone in the path were hiding in their houses. Which is why no one actually saw the aliens.
