It's a shame we couldn't get a kicker who could KICK! Otherwise it was a good game.

When I was young and watch rugby back in the 80s Australia had a kicker who could slot them in from all over the field. The games were usually won on penalties.

I reckon Giteau is well overpaid. You can't say though, that had he got the kicks they would have won.

Wonder if Rocky was referring to Giteau when he was asked if he could point any fingers and replied yes, but we all saw the game.

You have to admit it was a great game to watch and not one to be ashamed about losing. Thank christ they are starting to run again and that endless bloody kicking has taken a back step.

Referees are getting smarter too, although I have a thing about South African and Pommie refs

Cracker of a game with two teams not at their strongest (one team had a good 2 week break while the other had a long haul back from South Africa for their third game in 3 weeks).

Unfortunately the result was still the same in the end - close but NO cigar

And the Kiwis still #1 in the world......

.............until the French beat them in the 2011 world cup quarter finals

PS Moby - Kickers for Wallabies early 80's was Paul McLean then Noddy (Michael Lynagh) took over mid to late 80s. They could kick those leather balls incredibly well (even when wet and weighing 2 tons)

It just shows how close the two teams are could have gone either way
The new rules have certainly improved the game
Giteau is a great player noone has a great game all the time nor do referees
