Cinematographs are the new cool. Some of them are simply stunning.
It's like one picture tells a whole story.
Here's one to get started:

OK they look good, quality is awesome, but it aint new... animated gifs have been around for ever (in internet terms) They were the first way to introduce movement of images (to resemble video) before there was enough bandwidth for video.

(Mostly to show a hand moving up an down a shaft of some description, if you get my drift )

I did some googling and it just seems like a new take on an old idea...

From what I can tell the big difference is that part of the scene is frozen, and only a small part moves. So the art is in the small bit moving, the timing and the smoothness. My first post and Stu's newpaper one are proper cinemagraphs. Some of the others I posted are bordering on animated gifs I guess..

This might help clear it up!

how do you post the pics?

Go to the top of the webpage. Move your mouse over the forums menu. Select the 'Help' option. Read the instructions.

Seabreeze doesn't support animated gifs in the gallery though, so you'll have to link to them at an external URL.

If you install this extension (for chrome users only) you can click one button to upload an image to imgur. Imgur will then give you a link, 4th one down the page, that already has the img /img added. You just copy/paste that one here and it's all done for you, no typing.

So, a couple of great classy ones...
