I am going to get one of these in my next unit: http://our.windowfarms.org/

And some bongo drums, Xavier Rudd albums, a campervan, some interesting friends from South America, a girlfriend I don't own, sandals, both grow and make my own clothes.
...I'm not sure if I'm being funny or facetious sometimes.

Seriously, those windowfarms look pretty cool. You can buy some complete setups for ~$100 or follow the (open source) instructions and make one yourself.

I have no idea what you'd plant now so I'd also be interested to find out.

I tend to plant things I like to eat. My watermelons are coming along nicely at the moment, it is the first time I have tried to grow them but with plenty of water they seem to be doing well and I can see some little ones in there so we will see.

At the risk of being flamed down for my hippy, nerdy values, just go to the Gardening Australia website and look at their planting guide. It shows what to plant in what season in what region. Very helpful.

Cotton or rice
These soaked up all the water out of the Murray.
Could be useful now.

Na, there are enough veggies in Vic already. judging by the drivers we see up here with vic license plates.lol

Have been thinking of setting up a veggie patch myself.
But thought autumn heading towards winter would be a bad time?????
Dont know.

Glad I could help

Hopefully a green thumb person will post with whats good to start growing this time of year, as long as its not brussel sprouts

I have just put in some seeds to get some chillies going, but is as far as I have got so far.

I'm going to watch Gardening Australia right now on iView via their podcast.
...not sure if becoming old or smart.

Pictures of vegetables make me hungry.
