Im updating my mobile plan next week so i need to choose a new phone :)
So many choices but after reading thousands of reviews its come down to samsung galaxy s3 and HTC one XL. HTC seems to top the galaxy in almost everything but EVERYONE says the battery life is pretty crap.....but is this compared to other smart phones or is it pretty dodgy?
Such a hard decision.....What u guys think? 
Battery life the same as my HTC Desire so around 24hrs. Calls are still made on 3G and the bar signal for 4G is really bad but it doesn't appear to effect running. Download speed is noticeably faster too. Nice phone alround.
HTC One XL - It's a good phone. I mainly got it because it has really good reception.
I initially had battery problems, but resolved it by turning down the brightness (which had no obvious adverse affects) and installing juice defender.
The only downside is that it doesn't have tethered messaging (like the iPhone).
I rate it much higher than the last two iPhones (3s and 4) that I had. Much faster and is bluetick rated (by Telstra) because it receives reception in places where the iPhone doesn't.

I use juice-defender as well, and it makes the battery last heaps more.
On another smartphone, I use it only for calls normally, so I manually have set it to use 2G only and it lasts a few days before needing a recharge. The best of both worlds.
