Exactly! Smootch replied to the "office view" thread with a comment on the "car wash" pic saying "this is what I mean!" , and I pointed out that some people were of the opinion that the pic wasn´t demeaning to women `cos they weren´t... if You get my meaning ...

I'm a little concerned that you may find the pic I posted above offensive.
Sexism is a shades of grey thing. One person's joke is another person's disrespect. The test I apply now, taking my cue from your sweet self, is "Will this comment, pic, joke, make a normal reasonable woman, young, old or otherwise, feel uncomfortable, offended, unwelcome, or threatened."
I personally find that pic to be inoffensive. I can imagine that some may be offended, but my imaginary and somewhat idealised "normal" woman certainly wouldn't be. I'm not sure if I should qualify my standards. I think your standards (as demonstrated) are too sensitive. I have assumed that you are deliberately over sensitive to make a point, but I'm just guessing.
I am aware of the feminist position opposing stereotyping of women as anything other than "normal" people. I eschew that notion because I don't want to surrender all those wonderful stereotypes that we all know and love, any more that the other stereotypes of men, gays, kids, ethnics. Its a rich and varied world. Stereotyping panders to bigotry but it isn't bigotry per se. On the other hand It's easy to be compliant and politically correct but that is anodyne and boring. However I don't want to be unintentionally offensive either. I hope I'm not.
I hope you will keep up your transgression spotting. I agree with your position about 50% so far. I will support you because it's too easy for others to write you off as a loopy eccentric. That devalues your position and that would be a shame.

NotWal, I do not find your picture offensive, because I view pictures on these forums along with their context. I believe that you have read my posts and understand the intention for which they were written.
Correct me if I'm wrong Geoffnotdead, but I don't believe your picture in the "office view" thread is your office view. In my opinion, you ruined a nice thread by posting a picture purely for the perve, laugh or taunt that it would create. Well, you succeeded, I guess, but was it necessary and at who's expense?

I wrote the hypothesus following, that the persons in question were, possibly, not ,in fact, female! (sorry Grinch, just windin´ya up!)
I posted a real link to an actual webcam showing, at least part of, the facility where I do,indeed, work.
I do admit then following said diversion(Which I did NOT post so stand corrected) from the original thread and posting a provocative reply to your comments on it but I don´t know if You ever saw that? So,
guilty on that one but, come on, lighten up and have a bit of fun and allow admin to draw the lines, I think they do that pretty impartially and fairly.
