I'm doing a stint of driving from the coast to Melbourne for work... (don't usually work in Melbourne)
Every trip, every day, morning and night, I would see at least 1 stupid incident, and usually 2, 3 or 4... People are so selfish about gaining 1 position in a long line of moving traffic, and chances are we will all get there at about the same time if we all just hold our lane...
I'm sorry, but I really don't have much sympathy for young guy maniac drivers who ultimately wipe themselves out... But they also have an ability to wipe others out... 
Some people just need to chill out on the roads! 
PS - an after thought... 20 year old "maniac-jimmy" is far more dangerous than 50 year old "chilled-out-jimbo-sucking-on-a-tinnie"... But "maniac-jimmy" can spot a booze bus a mile away, and moderate his driving, and get through, no questions asked...
I also notice plenty of drivers looking down into their lap... Obviously fiddling with their damn smart phone!
You should catch the train bro...an hour and 10 from Marshall will deliver you into teh CBD and you can sleep/watch movies or whatever...
