yep im a mechanical fitter specialize in automation pneumatics and high speed production lines
Post some details for us apprentices to absorb would ya mark.
A decent thread gauge is handier than a rule and I guess the o.d. Might be random. Could you send me a pm and I'll have crack.

P.M sent - btw have used a pitch guage, pitch is fine but it is a f'kd up diameter made up by some "thoughtful" person on a lathe methinks
hey mark you could always just try what we boilermakers usually do- disregard the thread and hit the job with a bigger hammer.......

my avatar is the machining center I normally use ,Okuma MB56 ace center,also can get on the lathe if needed
If you are handy with a file it might be possible to fix the thread but those kinds of skills are not taught much these days.
