I picked up Iain Banks's "The Algebraist" the other day and in it the idea that everyone was part of a massive computer simulation had evolved into the only religion followed by everyone in the galaxy. An interesting book. This was just a sideline to the main story though.
So the analogy that black holes are just 'cosmic stack overflows' isn't too far from the truth (whatever that is ??)
If we are living in a simulation my programmer must have had a warped sense of reality or been a big fan of family guy.
