Some Queenslanders have to be okay with someone like slippery Pete looking after their interests.

How about the Victorian Troika?

Gillard
Crean
Shorten

Whats going on down there? Thankfully we've only have a year at the most to go with this mob. Unfortunately the other side looks a bit dodgy too.

The ALP will be lucky if they can find enough MPs to make up a shadow cabinet after the next federal election. Once their primary vote starts sliding below 30% basically the question going out is, can the last one leaving shut the door? NSW, Victoria, Queensland. That is the future for the ALP.

Moby, surely your'e not comparing Katter,Barnaby and Palmer with Gillard,Crean and Shorten? I get the hate for Gillard etc(actually I don't, but anyway) Katter is mad,......sorry I don't mean mad in the sense of "that TV show is really mad". I mean MAD. Barking mad. Palmer is........mad! Mad in a meglomaniac sort of mad. And Moby if your plans for the election work out and I'm sure you won't begrudge me saying I hope they don't , then the likelyhood is Barnaby will be deputy prime minister. I can't believe anybody in Australia including Barnaby would think that's a good idea. PS, Barnaby is strange, but not mad....yet!

Clive Palmer is a national treasure who has single-handedly carried this great nation through the GFC.

...seriously who would book a trip on the Titanic II's maiden voyage?

Katter, as much a dick as he is, has some good policies amongst the bad, ie. (mostly) against coal seam gas, for keeping state assets, for fair pricing safeguards for farmers, preventing Australia becoming a net importer of food. I can see why people voted for him, stupid hat and all.

Wasting your virtual breath. Loggy doesn't understand good policy or good argument - only character assassination .

Next election Barnaby will contest a safe National seat in the lower house. He will be elected. He will be leader of the National party. If the coalition are elected Barnaby Joyce will be DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER and ACTING PRIME MINISTER when Abbott (or Turnbull) are indisposed...... **** me!!! Bob Katter?....Dinsdale, there's no character assassination needed for Katter. It's Character self assassination for Bob. Exhibit a; Signing a petition that said the Port Arthur massacre was a conspiracy. b: How's about his comments about gay Queenslanders...ie..there aren't any???.c: His opposition to any idea of Global warming "are you telling me seriously that the world is going to warm because there's 400 parts per million of CO2 up there?" ????. d: singing his election "theme song"

. And Katter has got some "good policies", don't get me wrong, like ending the sell offs of state assets.....good on him ....the Labour party should reintroduce that policy to the platform but I don't think that's a goer. But really, you spend years in the National party(whose sole purpose is to butt **** every farmer in Australia.... without them noticing) and then you come across as an "independent".... and now he's going to save the farmers....I don't think so.

Exactly what Labor does. eg Garrett (was it Cronulla??) Would not have had a chance otherwise.

It's Character self assassination for Bob.

No. It is showing character and courage of his convictions no matter how much the monkey gallery crows.

Exhibit a; Signing a petition that said the Port Arthur massacre was a conspiracy.

Have a really close look at it. No way that dullard could have done it on his own.

b: How's about his comments about gay Queenslanders...ie..there aren't any???.

Please explain.

c: His opposition to any idea of Global warming "are you telling me seriously that the world is going to warm because there's 400 parts per million of CO2 up there?" ????.

We have had that discussion too many times and by default we all agree there is no agreement.

d: singing his election "theme song".

If you don't sing your own praises, no one else is going to do it for you. That vid you posted was a cheap shot and another example of you playing the man, not the ball.

And Katter has got some "good policies", don't get me wrong, like ending the sell offs of state assets.....good on him ....the Labour party should reintroduce that policy to the platform but I don't think that's a goer.

Not only is it not a goer, it is political suicide for a Laborite. Gough Whitlam tried to buy back the farm and we all know what happened there.

Selling the "Family Jewels" is the only way Labor knows how to raise money.

But really, you spend years in the National party(whose sole purpose is to butt **** every farmer in Australia.... without them noticing)

That is their official party platform is it??

and then you come across as an "independent"

Whom the electorate continues to vote for.

... and now he's going to save the farmers....I don't think so.

As usual loggie, you play the man, not the ball.

Is it possible you could be more analytical and logical (left brain) and less reactionary and emotional (right brain)?

Poor ol' loggy. Still can't read a post and respond to it. Without strawmen you'd be a lonely ol' cretin, eh.

So Cisco you're happy with Barnaby as deputy Prime minister? Is it my twisted commy brain, but wouldn't you be worried when Abbott goes overseas Barnaby will invade Tasmania.....or will eat his own excrement as a protest against Obama or something. I'm all for interesting politics but Barnaby is....well.... a bit N.Q.R.

We will leave that one alone as it has been done over before and I recall there are one or two contributors to the forum who had relatives there.

No politicians are normal unless they are nobodies doing nothing besides playing suduko and crossword puzzles on the back bench. Anyone who thinks they know how to run peoples lives are a bit crazy, especially when they look at all the crap they have caused in their own life.

They think they have a mandate to lord it over us because of everyone was forced to vote for one of them or the other. This whole representative democracy thing is reaching or has passed its used by date. Its hardly representative anyway. If Mr Logman lived where I live, his vote would mean nothing. The ALP wouldn't win here if the Liberals put up a two legged dog as their candidate, versus Jesus Christ representing the ALP. Meanwhile a senate vote in Tasmania is worth about 15 times the same vote in NSW or Victoria.

Lets try and get representative democracy working, put the sitting member last. Then they might start doing some representing.

Representative Democracy???

I think the last known occurrence of that was in Greece a couple of thousand years ago when if the representative did not re-present the will of his electorate the way they wanted, the citizens hung him.

Sounds like a good custom to re-introduce.
