HHMMM Just been reading a post from last year in which a couple of guys wanted to paddle Lake Macquarie from its southern most point to its northern end.
They claimed that there was no kayaking forum that they could get some local info from. How wrong they are, there are in fact two such forums so for any one else wanting similar info here they are.
There is KFDU (kayaks fishing down under) which is Aussie wide but the Mid Coast Kayak Fishing Club is primarily around the Lake Macquarie area and many of its members are very active and have great local knowledge.
Then there is the one that I administer at AusKayaks which is primarily for the recreational paddler. We list launch points, trip reports and post outings. Again local paddlers with local knowledge.
Any of us would only be too pleased to assist visitors to our waters in any way we can. We paddle for the pleasure, not the sport.
