Hi all,
Does anyone know where the readings for Mandurah are taken?
Must be something disturbing the clarity of readings as it is only very occasionally.

I watch the wind like a hawk, and regularly check sea breeze when I am home looking for the opportunity to get out there.
Daily there are major discrepancies.

Any thoughts?

Apologies.

Above should have read only very occasionally accurate.

Yep it's completely useless, don't use it. No-one here does, sorry for the inconvenience!

Thanks for the info.
Been watching this morning and both of the sites mentioned above are different to what is happening right now.
Do they share the same weather station as sea breeze?

Also, disappointed in yesterday. 30+ degrees and no sea breeze. Well not enough to kite in anyway. Here's hoping the doctor starts paying regular visits real soon.

I am only aware of one weather station in Mandurah - that's the BOM one previously mentioned at the marina.

Station Details ID: 009977 Name: MANDURAH Lat: -32.52 Lon: 115.71 Height: 3.0 m

Yes it's a lousy location and under reads the wind speed when it isn't from the E, N, NW, or dead south up the estuary. The direction is roughly correct once the wind is established but the seabreeze will hit the coast before it shows up at the marina, and the wind direction tends to be affected by being funnelled from the south through the adjacent river mouth. Well that's what I reckon anyway. Local wind does vary around Mandurah as you go south of north so the variation isn't always an error.

I believe all live Mandurah reading on all sites come from this same BOM station.

Modelled predictions on individual sites may vary.

Does anyone know of any other actual weather stations in Mandurah that could provide live readings?
