Could someone please explain why Mctavish boards have two different M logos. Some boards have the M with a star and some have the M with a blue bird.

The star one is the old logo and the bird is the new one I think. Post this in longboards there is some experts on the subject in there 
...could it be to signify the locally made one and the GSI (Thailand?) model?
