Is Victoria the only state to declare Melbourne Cup day a public holiday ?
Personally, I would love The Queens birthday long weekend in June (too bloody cold to enjoy anyway) brushed and replaced with a day off on Cup day.
It's the Queen's grandfathers birthday anyway as hers is April 21.
How much work gets done on Melbourne Cup day anyway ?
