Did anyone catch this on the news,
A poor disabled guy was attacked by 2 men who threw acid on his face as he delivered newspapers.
Is it just me or are there some sick pathetic bastards out there?
Seems crime and violence is on the rise in Melbourne.

It seems that any time someone says that someone else points to the stats that say it isn't so. But you wonder.

Yeah, could be there's generally a higher crime rate in the summer with more drinking etc so it may trend down during winter??
But there is an election coming up so I'm not surprised if the "stats" say crime's falling.

'Seems crime and violence is on the rise in Melbourne'
And everywhere else!

As long as we have do-gooders who think these people are mis-understood and need love and understanding then you can say goodbye to a normal life in society.

Theres no longer any deterrents - society is a lucky dip to these people. Where's Hitler when you need him?[}:)]

I don't remember where the quote was from, but I believe that the overall serious crime rate is supposed to have dropped in Aus, it's the reporting of this crime that has increased.

The "news" team on channels 7,9 and 10 seem to feel that fluffy polar bears born in German zoos, oversized or strangely shaped chicken eggs and etc. warrant reporting on national news. They must jump for joy when a real crime occurs to report.

At the risk of sounding like a certain Petermac3* I think that it's a good business model. Scare the population then put adverts on telling them to buy things to make them feel better.

Knife related crime definitely appears to be on the increase and I think is a pretty serious issue as it's pretty much impossible to control. Perhaps if there were less police assigned to running around with speed guns and stealing peoples money they might do better elsewhere.

I often shake my head at the amount of knife and gun related crimes in Sydney and Melbourne, seems to be one every day of late.

Looks like I will have to dumb it down for those of a more literal nature. Hitler is simply a metaphor for anyone with the balls to have the convictions of his beliefs and who will get tough on those who do not wish to be part of normal society...plain enough

And Hitler was such a great reformer. He had a few little difficulties that people may be inclined to over emphasise but at heart he was a visionary leader, just what we need to clean up the streets. Never mind the broken glass. Never mind the tanks and corpses.

Since you mentioned him first and have therefore already lost the debate, there is an interesting OSS profile of Adolph made during the war:
http://www.nizkor.org/hweb/people/h/hitler-adolf/oss-papers/text/profile-index.html
It is remarkable for the accuracy of its predictions.
I don't think its a hoax, but idk.

What debate? Didn't realise I was in a competition. I gave an opinion, that is not a debate. I learnt a long time ago that you can't debate with the closed minds of ignorant people - this is the last I will say on this.
