My mate, my teenage son, use to surf with me and he I hoped he was going to windsurf as well. Awesome having your son involved with you in your passion! He always had trouble catching waves though, even as a 10y.o. When he was 13 he was diagnosed with F.S.H dystrophy, a form of muscular dystrophy where his upper body muscles gradually waste and will not regenerate.
I still windsurf and surf but Billy, who is now 15, can no longer. Fortunately he has taken up photography and art as his arms can cope with these pursuits at present.
My wife and I are raising funds with F.S.H Global and Everyday Hero to help fund research at Monash University as this disease has never received any funding from the government.
If you would be prepared to donate even $5 towards this cause please click on the link to my wife's 'Everyday Hero' webpage

Thanks,
Bill

he is a little hero but you and your partner are aswell.
godbless.
Mate - I (and any parent) would be devastated to get news like you have.
Will have a look at the site for sure.
WAKSA (AKSA?) do a red kite fundraiser that i believe goes predominantly to children's research etc. Worth pointing them to your webby?
Best of luck with your future battles and enjoy every day you can.
