Tonight for the first time I was almost carjacked.
I went to Bribie Island to see a friend tonight with the baby and wife. I got a little lost so I pulled over in front of a small shopping center to stare at the phone for directions. Very well lit up area, late night shopping so alot of cars in the car park. Within 10 seconds I noticed A tall dark male in a black hoodie walking towards the car, did not give it much thought as I never have before. 10-15 more later and now I see he is close, next thing he runs the last 5meters straight at the car grabbed hold of the rear passenger door where 7month old baby is sleeping and I just nailed it. Hearing the door handle and a fxxk as I tore off.
Now I drive a decked out 80 series TD. I am obviously not some little old lady driving. About 100mt down the road and the wife saying I did not even see him till you drove off. Did a uey and parked opposite the area (now with locked doors) and called the cops, he walked back into S.C.
Nothing came of it and I drove off before the police turned up. Both of us will lock our car doors everytime we get in the car. So freaky especially with bubs in the car, a life changing moment yet such a small thing.
Go back and I.D. the prick before he does it to someone else. Prints are on the door handle.
+1
Prints off the inside of a door handle are nigh on impossible to get, its a high contact area so there will be prints on top of prints on top of prints, probably a bit of 7 moth old baby dribble mixed in there too.
Lock ya doors and pay attention to whats around you. Hell if I have to go to Perth these days I lock my doors if I have to stop at a red light.
80 series TD? Why didn't you do a u turn and run him down? Should be easy enough to wash the blood off with a high pressure cleaner.
next time be sure he has a firm grip to the handle before you take of......... his hand still attached to the car could be evidence for the cops!

A waist of time. A mate of mine got bashed, king hit from behind, and then repeatedly kicked until someone jumped in. Ended up in hospital and took nearly 4 weeks to get his head right. Made a report to cops with the offenders details. Provided CCTV footage showing king hit, the guy who jumped in was never contacted by police. When he eventually went in to make a statement the cops said no point in making a full on report. (This was now 6 or 7 weeks after the event). The cops then rang my mate and told him there was not enough evidence to continue
My mate remembers nothing of the night.
SO moral of the story is, fix it yourself. Just don't get caught on the spot and Have more witness's then the other team and your all okay![]()

"Cundalini wants his hand back", loving your logic!!!!!!!!!!

Any other time if I was alone without the baby and wife. It was all so quick, you do not get a chance to retaliate.
Cops called today to say they got him and got a few more details from me. What annoyed me was every question I asked they did not want to comment, so will have to wait and see what happens. I'm guessing nothing till he kills/injures someone. I have respect for some cops - they just never follow up.
edit: maybe reversing would work better they would get jammed in the door followed by the Mickey's leaving a print
Did this happen on bribie? Cops would know exactly who it was if it was there. it's a retirement village not many young people.

The problem you have is he didn't actually do anything illegal, yet... its hard to prove what his actual intent was. We all know he wasn't going to point out a flat tyre of he thought it was his friends car. But thats all he has to say. At least the cops worked out who he is, there is more than one way to skin a cat and now he is on their radar.
2 friends of mine in Lyon (France) years ago, they were waiting at a red light, a guy opened the side door and started to sit on the side, pushing the passenger in arguing stuffs loudly, my friend managed to push the guy out of the car while the other one took off, my friend slam the door shut, but it reopened as the guy's foot was stuck in the door/seat and he was being dragged on the road ! Managed to get him out and drove away ! Hopefully he had learnt his lesson ! A good laugh much later though.
Many cars now have the doors shut off automatically after few seconds of driving.
just get a Mercedes. Pretty sure their doors lock automatically as soon as you accelerate out the drive
I must admit, I use the 'lock all doors' button a lot now, and am a little sad that I feel the need to do so.
Friend of mine stopped at lights in Sydney. Guy opens the passenger door, and grabs my friends bag that was on the seat. My friend grabs it as well, and they are having a tug-of-war with the bag. My friend reaches down the side of his seat with the other hand and pulls out mini-machette, then lifts it to slice off the guys arm. Apparently the guys face instantly drained to white, before he then let go and ran away.

Yes. Right in front of Sandstone Point shopping center - just past the bus stop.
Nothing more from cops sadly.

That sounds so like an internet tough guy wank fantasy. Does your mate *really* drive round with a small machete next to his seat? And he just happened to need it? What are the odds!

Unbelievable. Sure he didn't think you were there to buy drugs off him or something?

LOL. I'm not a kid, I'm a middle age dad with teenage children. I have no need to make up a story like that.
It was my best man's father-in-law. He's about 65 years old, and has been driving around with it down the side of his car seat for years.
He's not the only person I know who drives around with a 'bowie' style knife or other defensive implement under the car seat 'just in case'. My father always carried a rifle in the campervan when we went camping in remote places.
I've been attacked by a guy swinging nunchucks out his car window bashing the car I was in because we somehow upset him the way we were driving.
There's stuff like this going on all the time, so it's gonna happen eventually to someone you know.
Pretty sure he wasn't a dealer (big or small). People don't run up to a car like that (previous life
), plus the fxxk he yelled.
Kiteboy dave plenty - I mean plenty have assorted items in their car for these and other such events, a few people I used to know loved show the dents and blood marks on the bats. My dad whom I hate with a passion used to show me the teeth prints, he would chase people down and flog them just for holding up traffic, he and many others are complete nutters.
This event seemed to have another agenda. More like steal the car as a taxi for mates into the city?
^^ Scary stuff you two that people actually feel the need to do that here.
But then again things like this vid makes you realise how psycho some people are.
Bashing his way thru the windscreen with his bare hands. He would have got there too if the guy hadn't knocked him off.

Yeah, the scary thing is that totally out of the blue, you suddenly find yourself in a life threatening situation, without doing anything to cause it. My experience was very similar to that video. The guy chased us for 10 minutes through traffic in suburban Sydney at high speed, swinging nunchucks at the windows and sliding his finger across his throat, signalling he was going to kill us if he managed to catch us. He had turned totally psycho, and anything could have happened.
Since then, I almost don't dare to use the horn for anything. You never know whether the other driver is just about to tip over the edge.
I was undertaken and nearly runoff the road on Friday night on SW highway in WA by an impatient clown
Something similar happened to me once, resting at a fairly crowded roadside stop late one night, saw through the mirrors 2 hooded blokes coming at me, one on each side of the car.
Just had time to get the car started one had time to bang the back of the cr. Stopped couple 100s meters away to call the cops, they started running after me again. A few times like that. At least it was humorous to see them run like that for nothing all the time.
About the Brisbane episode - never heard what happened to the bogan after he turned himself in ??

Gees, I'm glad I spend so much time in PNG. Damn dangerous living in Australia....much safer here, better wind too.
^^^ OTOH I met someone years ago, family friends of an ex of mine, who were fairly rich in Port Moresby, owned the biggest store/chain apparently, maybe. Made enough to buy a Lambo when they came back here. They lived behind a razor wire fence. With dogs and guards with machine guns inside it at all times. With another razor wire fence inside that one to create a no man's land. And a safe room in the house. Just in case they got thru. Which happened. The story goes that left PNG after staring down the wrong end of a shotgun in the face.... for the 8th time. ![]()
(disclaimer: obviously, extreme case they were rich, PM is unlike most of PNG, etc etc)
